Natural cold-process soap making is simpler than you might think. In this video, I share how to make a small batch of soap using carrots. Incredibly, they tint your bars a lovely sunny yellow that’s both stable and lasts a long time. You could even use homegrown carrots to make your batch even more homemade. A fun and unusual gift from the garden.

In this video we tackle a decent size project for my size company. We demoed a Vermeer mini skid steer to speed up the process when moving material. This job involved removing the existing grass and bringing in stone in preparation for the concrete base. Not too complex, but still involves planning and communication. We had limited access to the site, only the width of a sheet of plywood. The perfect size for a mini skid steer to get the job done. We were very thankful that we didn’t have to wheel barrow 20 tons of rock to the back yard 😁. We could not have done this job in one day without this machine. A huge thank you to Tim with Vermeer for bringing this machine out and letting us see how it would work for us. Corn pollination is a weird process unlike many other annual crops you’ll grow in your garden. It’s a wind pollinated plant, meaning our beneficial pollinators don’t really play a part in the process.
